This article is about violence between rival World Cup football fans on the island of Maluku in Indonesia. According to the report, its not clear which teams the rival supporters were following. However, in the village where the dispute occured several houses were set ablaze.
This article reminds me of another similar incident but instead played out between rival European fans. In a bar in the German city of Hanover, a local got into an ugly debate with two Italian men over whose country had won more world cups. The German left the bar obviously fuming and returned soon after with a hand gun and shot the two foreigners in the head. One died instantly and the other in hospital soon after. For the record Italy have four world cups and Germany have three. http://www.corriere.it/International/english/articoli/2010/07/06/italians-murdered-hanover.shtml
